Here is my design from the design assignment bank “Are We There Yet?”. Have you ever packed for a trip but didn’t check the weather before you packed? Well here are the consequences of this happening!
I chose two pictures of mine. One of the beach and another from a trip I took to New York City in December of 2018. I used GIMP (which is free to download) to create this edit and below I will post a some instructions on how to create this edit! Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions or comments.
The first step is to decide and upload the picture of yourself (or whoever you choose) to GIMP.
Step 2, select the lasso tool and trace the outline of the figure, then right click hover over ‘edit’, and click ‘cut’.
In step 3, you’ll be adding the new picture you want to use for your background.
In step 4, right click on your new background picture hover over ‘edit’, then ‘paste as’, then select new layer.
In step 5, the figure will be pasted onto the new background.
In step 6, you will be scaling your figure. Start by right clicking, hover over ‘layer’, then select ‘scale layer’. From there you can change the size of your figure to make it work with the background image.
In this last step, you will use the ‘move’ tool (located on the left) to move your newly sized figure. Once it’s in the position you like you can save and download your image. And now you have your own edited image!
